Stroke Thrombolysis
Dissolves clots in blocked blood vessels
Tenecteplase is a medication that dissolves clots in blocked blood vessels. It is used for intravenous thrombolysis to restore blood flow to the brain in patients with ischemic stroke. Tenecteplase is a newer generation drug that can be administered by a single injection. It may have superior recanalization and improved 3-month outcome compared to alteplase, another clot-busting drug. Tenecteplase is a second-tier option in current clinical practice guidelines for stroke.
